Coroner ID's man killed in Springettsbury Twp. crash
A Windsor man was killed Wednesday, Sept. 12, in a Springettsbury Township crash, according officials.
The York County Coroner's Office said Robert Rothrock IV was in one of two vehicles involved in a crash near Mount Zion Road and Whiteford Road. He was pronounced dead at York Hospital about 4:15 p.m., the coroner's office said.
Springettsbury Township Police said in a news release that the crash happened about 3:40 p.m.
Police said a 51-year-old Windsor woman driving a Toyota Corolla was turning left onto Whiteford Road from northbound Mount Zion Road when she was struck by a 2011 Ford F-150 going south on Mount Zion Road.
The Ford F-150 was driven by a 61-year-old York City man, according to police.
The passenger in the Corolla, Rothrock, died from injuries, according to the release. An 18-year-old woman from Red Lion was in the back seat of the Corolla as well.
Both the driver and the woman in the back seat suffered serious injuries and were taken to York Hospital, according to police. The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital as well, the release states.
An autopsy on Rothrock revealed his cause of death as multiple blunt-force trauma, with the manner accidental. The coroner's office said he was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.
