Heat advisory issued for York County Thursday

York County will once again be under a heat advisory Thursday, Sept. 6.

The National Weather Service said that the heat advisory will go into effect starting at 11 a.m. and it will continue until 6 p.m.

Temperatures will reach the lower 90s, the weather service said, and there could be heat index values of more than 100 degrees.

The highest heat index values are anticipated during the afternoon and evening, according to the weather service.

The weather service advised limiting or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities. It also advised staying hydrated and to check up on elderly, sick, and those without air conditioning.
