A heat advisory issued for York County Tuesday, Aug. 28, has been extended, according to the National Weather Service. 

The advisory will go into effect at noon Tuesday and continue until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, the weather service said.

On Tuesday the heat index will be up to 103 degrees, according to the weather service.

Adams, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties are included in the advisory as well. 

The weather service advised limiting or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities. It also advised staying hydrated and to check up on elderly, sick, and those without air conditioning.
