The Decked Out fundraiser will feature 150 hand-customized skate decks in a silent auction. The proceeds will benefit art galleries and York's Reid Menzer Memorial Skatepark.

Local artists wishing to merge their artistic prowess and skateboarding skills will once again have the opportunity to do so during the sixth annual "Decked Out" event in York City.

The fundraising event is sponsored by The Parliament Arts Organization, a local nonprofit organization aiming to empower artists, and will take place Wednesday, Nov. 7, through Friday, Nov. 9, at its gallery located at 116 E. King St.

The event most notably features a skate deck silent auction exhibit, where artists decorate skateboard decks to be auctioned off throughout the event.

Festivities also include food, live music and other entertainment. All proceeds benefit The Parliament Arts Organization and the Reid Menzer Memorial Skatepark.

Parliament Executive Director Collin Holder said the event embodies the organization's "innovative, edgy and exciting" ways to empower local artists and brings in individuals from all over York County.

“This event has a reputation of bringing guests in from all over," he said. "From previous ticket sales, we can see that over 50 percent of the guests that attended the event in the past came from outside of the City of York.”

Holder added that with regional bands and entertainers, the crowds "will only continue to grow."

The Parliament Arts Organization plans to announce the bands by Friday, Sept. 14.
