A retaining wall collapse is restricting traffic in York City.

The city said in the release that a retaining wall collapsed near the Philadelphia Street bridge Thursday, July 26.

The south lane of the street and south side pedestrian sidewalk will be closed, the release states.

Philip Given, chief of staff for York City Mayor Michael Helfrich, confirmed the collapse was caused by the rain.

Officials are on the scene with the Army Corps of Engineers to resolve the issue, according to the city.
