The National Weather Service has placed York County under a flash flood watch.

The watch, issued just before 6 a.m. Monday, July 23, is in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, according to the weather service.

After a few days of heavy rain, additional showers and storms with heavy rain are expected to hit Monday during the day and night, the weather service said.

Soil is wet and streams are running high and the expected rain could cause flooding in "very short order," according to the weather service.
