Codorus State Park rangers, EMTs rescue dog-bite victim
A woman who suffered a dog bite was rescued from a trail in Codorus State Park late Thursday morning, according to a park official.
Two friends were walking a dog on a park trail Thursday, July 12, and a couple also were walking their dog on the trail, according to park manager Deanna Schall.
The dogs apparently tried to fight, but a woman got between them and stopped it, said Schall, who said the woman was bitten by one of the dogs in the process.
She suffered puncture wounds to one of her legs and likely needed stitches, Schall said.
"I don't think the dogs actually got to each other," Schall said when asked whether either of the dogs suffered injuries.
Codorus State Park rangers and a local ambulance crew used an ATV to drive the woman off the trail, after which she was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, Schall said.
