A bridge in Shrewsbury Township will close for more than three months, according to the state Department of Transportation.

PennDOT said in a news release that the Route 851, Steltz Road bridge over Swans Creek near the Pennsylvania-Maryland state line, would close on Monday, July 9. 

Route 851 will be closed to through traffic between Keeney Mill Road and Parrish Lane for up to 105 days, according to the release.

Drivers will be taken through a detour which follows Steltz Road, Bowser School Road and Hidlebrand Road, PennDOT said.

Crews will remove and replace the 53-year-old structurally deficient bridge, the release states.
