Police said it was believed the road would reopen about noon.

But at about 12:15 p.m., police issued a new traffic alert stating that portion of Baltimore Pike would remain closed until at least 3 p.m. because of a second crash.

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole, police said.

About 1:30 p.m., police updated their traffic alert to say the road would remain closed until at least 6 p.m. because of extensive utility-pole work being done.
