Coroner: York City man dies after falling off motorcycle

A 50-year-old man died after falling off his motorcycle and being hit by a car in York City, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Steven Johnson, of York City, was reportedly driving erratically the evening of Sunday, June 24, in the area of the 100 block of West College Avenue when he fell off his motorcycle, a coroner's release states.

The release notes that one vehicle swerved to miss Johnson but a second vehicle struck him.

He was then transported to York Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 6:30 p.m., according to the coroner.

York City Police are investigating the crash, and no autopsy has been scheduled.
