York City announces 2018 'Art in the Parks' schedule

York City announced the June and July schedule for the "Art in the Parks" series in a Thursday, June 14, news release.

The annual event is a free art program offered every summer. Participants between the ages of 3-12 are able to enjoy York City's parks while creating art among peers.

The series will began Monday, June 18, at Allen Park on Tremont Street and Hay Street. Activities are held 6:30-7:30 p.m. each weekday, and the location changes each week.

No signup is necessary. Dates and places are:

  • June 18–22: Allen Park, Tremont Street and Hay Street
  • June 25–29: Yorktowne Park,1059 Kelly Drive
  • July 2-6 (no event on July 4): Campus Park, North Duke Street and East College Avenue
  • July 9–13: Jim Gross Park, Roosevelt Avenue at Fahs and Lincoln streets
  • July 16–20: Penn Park, 100 W. College Ave.
  • July 23-27: Farquar Park, 570 N. Newberry St.
  • July 30-Aug. 3: Albemarle Park, 177 S. Albemarle St.
