'Please let him be': Police warn of bear in Emigsville area

Northern York County Regional Police are warning residents that a bear was been seen wandering through Emigsville Thursday, June 14.

The department said in a Facebook post at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday that police have been receiving reports of a bear going through the Emigsville and Woodlandview Drive areas of Manchester Township.

Police say the bear is making his way toward Black Bridge Road.

"Please let him be as he moves through," the department wrote in its Facebook post.

On Friday, June 15, Lt. David Lash said the department had not received any more calls about the bear.

"We believe he is safely in the woods somewhere, and hopefully fat and healthy," he said.
