A flash flood watch will be in effect for York County Tuesday, May 15.

The National Weather Service said the county will be under the watch from 2 p.m. through Tuesday evening.

Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms could produce flash flooding of small streams and roads, according to the weather service. 

Additionally, the county will be under a severe thunderstorm watch during the day Tuesday. The weather service said the thunderstorm watch went into effect at 12:25 p.m. and will remain until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The flood watch is also scheduled for Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin and Lancaster counties. Those counties are also under the severe thunderstorm watch. 

Thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m., and some storms could be severe, according to the weather service.
