Seven people were hospitalized following a crash in West Manchester Township Thursday night.

Six of those hospitalized were in a single Toyota Prius, according to officials.

Township police say a woman backing her 2011 Acura MDX out of her home in the 2000 block of Derry Road was struck by a 2013 Toyota Prius in the southbound lane.

The crash happened about 9 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

Seven people were in the Prius, and six of them were hospitalized after the crash. One of them, a 6-year-old boy, was flown by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center for treatment, officials said.

Chief John Snyder said there were three adults and three children in the Prius, along with another person whose age was not determined as of Friday morning.

He said the boy flown to Hershey Medical Center had serious injuries and needed extensive medical attention.

The woman who backed out of her home was sent to the hospital as well, police said.
