Snow likely in York County this weekend, but warmer weather on the way

Spring might have begun a couple of weeks ago, but snow continues to fall in York County, and that trend is likely to continue this weekend.

The National Weather Service and AccuWeather are forecasting a greater than 50 percent chance of snow late Friday, April 6, into early Saturday, April 7.

Meteorologist Paul Walker, of AccuWeather, said the track of the storm has been changing quite a bit, but it does look likely that Central Pennsylvania will get snow, though where exactly and how much is still in question.

Meteorologist Paul Head, of NWS, said he expects snowfall similar to what occurred earlier this week, with a few inches of accumulation overnight that quickly melts away during the day.

Early forecasts also show a chance of snow in the area Monday, April 9, but Head said a reprieve could be on the way, as he's seeing signs of changing patterns that indicate warmer, more springlike weather should appear toward the end of next week.
