Liquor control agents cite 3 York County establishments
Three York County establishments were cited in March by agents from the state’s Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.
Cited were the Red Lion Tavern at 27 N. Main St. in Red Lion; the Bon Air Country Club at 2287 Club House Road in Shrewsbury Township; and the Four Seasons Lodge at 517 Aubel Road in Peach Bottom Township, according to a state police news release.
State police conduct enforcement for Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board.
According to the LCE, the Red Lion Tavern failed to have patrons vacate the premises by 2:30 a.m.
A message seeking comment was left with a tavern employee on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 3. She said the owner was not available Tuesday because of family commitments.
Also cited was Four Seasons Lodge, which allegedly sold or gave alcohol to two minors, according to the LCE.
A woman who answered the phone there on Tuesday identified herself as the owner, said she was disputing the allegation and declined further comment.
Issues 'corrected': The Bon Air Country Club was cited for allegedly failing to maintain a copy of its charter on the premises and also cited for allegedly transporting malt or brewed beverages without a license.
"We've corrected the situation to the best of our ability," Jeff Glatfelter, general manager of Bon Air Country Club, told The York Dispatch.
"The charter was something that was easily remedied and is now available for (LCE) to inspect at any time," he said. "The other (issue) was a misunderstanding of the (state liquor) code and has been corrected."
The citations will be brought before an administrative law judge, who could impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses, according to the LCE.
The judge has the authority to suspend or revoke an establishment’s liquor license, depending on the severity of the charge, according to LCE.
