A public memorial service for York City Firefighters Ivan Flanscha and Zachary Anthony has been set for Wednesday, March 28, at the York Expo Center.

The service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Expo Center's Memorial Hall, 334 Carlisle Ave., according to Philip Given, chief of staff for York City Mayor Michael Helfrich.

In a news release Saturday, March 24, Given said there will be an honor guard and a bagpipe and drum corps. More information will be released later, he said.

Details about road closures and the staging of firetrucks and other emergency vehicles also will be released later, he said.

More information will be posted on York City's website, www.yorkcity.org, and on the city's social-media accounts.

Funeral services will be private for Flanscha, 50, but open for Anthony, 29, according to Given.

Flanscha's viewing will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road near Red Lion. It will be followed by a private service.

Anthony's open funeral service will be held Thursday, March 29, at Freedom Valley Church, 3185 York Road in Gettysburg.

Viewings are set for 1 to 3 p.m., and from 5 to 7 p.m. Anthony's service will begin at 7 p.m.

Given said donations to help the families of Flanscha, Anthony and two injured firefighters — Assistant Chief Greg Altland and Firefighter Erik Swanson — are still being accepted on GoFundMe.com. Search the site for "York Fire Fighters Support Fund."

As of 6 p.m. Sunday, the fundraising effort had raised nearly $50,000.
