Former York County Commissioner and radio host, George Trout, died

George Trout Sr., a former York County Commissioner and well-known radio broadcaster, is dead at 88.

State Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill, R-York Township, posted on social media Monday, March 12, sending her condolences to Trout's wife, Chi Chi, and their family.

Trout, of Springettsbury Township, served as a county commissioner for two terms, 1988-1996, and was named president commissioner during his second term.

He co-founded York Sport Night in 1964 and was elected to the York Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
