Volunteer naturalist Linette Mansberger of New Oxford loves to travel and loves to take nature photos.

The retired kindergarten teacher shared images of a recent trip to South Africa with guests at Richard M. Nixon County Park on Sunday, Jan. 28.

Mansberger started photography early.

"I got my first camera when I was in fourth grade. It was just a little Instamatic camera," she said. Now she captures thousands of frames with her Canon digital camera and 100-400mm zoom lens. She just returned from Costa Rica, where she shot about 8,000 photos.

Volunteering at Nixon Park is important to Mansberger. She guides bird walks, has done programs on bats and has shared other destinations through her photography.

"One of my goals in life is to teach people as much as possible about nature,"  Mansberger said.
