Police pursuit leads to crash in Red Lion
A state police trooper pursuing a fleeing driver Thursday evening in Red Lion crashed into a separate vehicle at an intersection, according to a PSP news release.
The trooper tried to stop the driver of a blue Saturn sedan that had been reported stolen out of York City about 6:20 p.m. Jan. 25, but the driver did not stop, the release states.
The pursuit went into and through Red Lion, with the Saturn driver going through a red light at the intersection of Windsor and Freysville roads, according to the release.
As the trooper approached the intersection, another vehicle entered the intersection, leading to the crash, police said.
The trooper involved in the crash was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, the release states.
The Saturn was located about a quarter-mile north of the intersection, though the driver had fled the scene, according to the release.
PSP is working with local police and the York County Sheriff's Office to locate the suspect, though they have no evidence that the person poses a threat to the community at this time, the release states.
