A 49-year-old man was found dead last week in a wooded area along the Codorus Creek in West Manchester Township, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.

After finding Martin’s body, the children told a fisherman, who called 911, Gay said. Martin was known to have no fixed address.

The cause and manner of Martin’s death are pending, though it appears he died of natural causes, as there was no visible trauma on his body, Gay said in the release.

No foul play is suspected, she said.

Martin appeared to have been dead for several days to weeks before his body was found, according to the coroner’s office.

He was originally transported to the York Hospital morgue because he couldn’t be identified, but county forensics detectives assisted police and the coroner’s office in identifying Martin the day after he was found, the release states.
