Steam out for a tree on the Tannenbaum Train
Passengers scurried onto waiting rail cars and the conductor yelled "All aboard" as the final Tannenbaum Train of the season set to depart Steam into History's New Freedom station Sunday afternoon.
During the 45-minute ride in the train pushed by Engine No. 17, a oil-fueled replica steam engine, passengers were treated to a visit by Santa and Christmas carols by the Susquehanna Travellers.
Arriving in Codorus Township, the passengers disembarked the train for a horse-drawn carriage ride to Bricker's Tree Farm, where they searched the hillside looking for the perfect family Christmas tree.
While the Tannenbaum Train runs are finished for the season, Steam into History has several Santa Singalong trips coming up in the next few weeks as well as other events. For more information, visit www.steamintohistory.com.
