The bright smell of fresh-cut flowers fills the air as Kelly Miller and store manager Jackie Dahms, of Royer's Flowers & Gifts, make bouquets to be given out to veterans Saturday at the Loucks Road store in honor of Veterans Day.
"Last year we had around 200 veterans. This year we are hoping to have more," Miller said. "Many of us here have veterans in our lives. We'd like to make sure that they all know that we're thinking about them."
Veterans can receive a free bouquet of red, white and blue carnations with greenery at the store between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11. If not in uniform, veterans must present their military ID.
