York United block party canceled again for weather

The second-annual York United block party, set for this afternoon, Tuesday, Aug. 29, has been canceled because of expected rain.

The celebration had initially been set for Aug. 11, but was postponed because of thunderstorms that day.

It was rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon in front of the York City Police Department at 50 W. King St., and would have featured free food, games, entertainment and activities.

But a rainy forecast has again spurred city officials to cancel the block party, according to a York City news release.

The block party will not be rescheduled this year, the release states.
