YorkFest Fine Arts festival draws crowds

For at least seven decades, artists have shown their creations during the two-day YorkFest Fine Arts Festival along the Codorus Creek in York.

This year's festival featured nearly 100 artisans displaying everything from hand-forged knives and repurposed light fixtures to watercolors and photography.

New this year were Spin Art Bikes, where participants created art as one person peddled a bike while another dripped paint onto paper in a spinning container. YorkFest promoters were hoping for 500 participants over the two days and ended up with considerably more, with 420 creating unique art pieces on Saturday alone.

The Spin Art Bikes were made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts and a donation by Gung Ho bicycles.
