Load up on the extra napkins — York City Crab Week kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 26. 

The second-annual shellfish celebration runs through Sept. 2, giving folks more than a week to load up on as many crustaceans as possible. 

The York City Independent Restaurant Association-sponsored event includes 17 participating restaurants serving up more than 30 meals crafted especially for Crab Week.

From traditional favorites such as crab cakes and hush puppies to fusion mashups  such as surf-and-turf chimichurri cheesesteaks, diners will have plenty of options to satisfy their crab cravings. 

Crab Week is just one of many themed food events organized by the YCIRA to build on the success of Restaurant Week and entice people into the city.
