Creative York and the York Water Co. hosted their second Plein Air Art event at Lake Williams in Jacobus on Wednesday, Aug. 16.

More than two dozen artists stood at easels or sat in the grass and brushed, carved or drew works of art depicting the scenery at the lake.

"I did this last year and wanted to do it again," York Township resident Jeannine Dabb said as she applied oil paint to her canvas, detailing a tree trunk she was painting. "I love working with Creative York and like to support local events."

The art created during the event will be put on exhibit at the York Water Co.'s East Market Street location from Sept. 20 through Oct. 6.

A special reception and awards for the artists will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.
