PennDOT postpones replacing bridge over Fishing Creek

PennDOT has postponed the replacement of a bridge over Fishing Creek in York County.

The bridge that takes New Bridgeville Road, Route 425, over the creek at the Chanceford/Lower Windsor Township line had been scheduled to be closed beginning the week of Aug. 14.

The work is now expected to begin the week of Sept. 11 and be completed in mid-November, PennDOT said on Friday.

Traffic will be detoured onto Richmond Road and Burkholder Road during the closure, PennDOT said.

This bridge is one of 558 bridges around the state being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
