Sunflower Festival Weekend at Maple Lawn Farms

Maple Lawn Farms in New Park is hosting its first Sunflower Festival Weekend this week.

The farm, well known for its Maize Quest corn mazes, planted 15 varieties of sunflowers on five acres, amounting to thousands of yellow and red flowers.

The festival starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, with a private wine-tasting near the sunflowers. Tickets are $12 for the over-21 event.

Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12-13,  are family fun days, with admission to the Maize Quest corn maze and other attractions as well as a wagon ride to the sunflower fields. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday.  

Everyone taking part in the festival will receive a cut sunflower to take home.
