More than a dozen York City residents are throwing a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.

The Downtown Yard Sale will be held in the Royal Square District, outside and behind Didi & Smiling John's Barber Shop, 119 S. Duke St.

Meagan Feeser, chief marketing development officer of Downtown Inc, moved to York City in 2016. She said she realized she had an abundance of "stuff" and no garage.

Lacking a traditional yard, she made friends with others in the area who had a similar problem.

They decided to throw their own "yard sale," according to a Downtown Inc statement. The event is a hybrid of a traditional yard sale, along with nontraditional extras such as King Brat Gourmet and On My Grind Coffee, music, kids' activities and more.
