More: York's heat wave continuing into weekend

From now through Aug. 31, the fast-food chain is offering a free sundae, no purchase necessary, when temperatures reach 90 degrees or hotter, according to Grit Marketing Group.

The offer, Grit explained, is available through McDonald's mobile app for 24 hours when the temperatures rise to 90 degrees or hotter at the Harrisburg International Airport.

Current HIA weather reports predict temps to soar into the 90s this week.
