One person was shot with "less lethal" rounds during a police incident Sunday afternoon in East Manchester Township, police said.

Police were called to the scene on Griffith Lane about 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the York County 911 media log, and fire police kept traffic and residents away from a house there all afternoon.

According to police at the scene, a man barricaded himself inside a house by himself and refused to come out. The York County Quick Response Team, which is trained and equipped to deal with standoffs and other police situations, was called to the scene.

Northeastern Regional Police said Monday on its Facebook page that the victim was shot with less-lethal rounds when he challenged police. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for self-inflicted wounds. His name was not released.

Staff reporter Christopher Dornblaser contributed to this report.
