Hanover man, 79, dies in Saturday crash

A 79-year-old Hanover man died from injuries suffered in a vehicle crash Saturday morning in the borough.

The wreck happened about 8:30 a.m. at McCosh and Stock streets when a 2016 Hyundai Tucson driven by Timothy Newman, of Hanover, hit a 1989 Ford Festiva operated by George Hart., according to a Hanover Borough Police Department news release.

Hart was transported to York Hospital, where he later died, police said. The cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Borough police are asking that anyone who witnessed the crash contact the department through York County 911 or by calling 717-637-5575.
