Thousands of brightly colored and unique cars will be roaming York County streets this weekend.

More than 22,000 visitors and nearly 3,000 vehicles at least 30 years old are expected at the York Expo Center for the 44th annual Street Rods National East. It's the 37th year the county has hosted the gathering, according to the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The bureau estimates that the three-day show will drive nearly $13 million in economic benefits to the county.

Festivities  kick off at noon Friday with the street rod parade, which will depart from the Market Street gate and follow Market Street east through downtown York and end at Broad Street.

The street rod parade is expected to last about an hour and will cause traffic delays for those trying to cross Market Street during that time, according to a York City news release.

Market Street will be closed along the route to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the parade. Eastbound motorists should use King Street, and westbound motorists should use Philadelphia Street to avoid the parade, the release states.

All activities are open to the public, and the show runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 years old and free for children 5  and younger. Discounts are available for senior citizens, military personnel and National Street Rod Association members.

Tickets are available at the York Expo Center.
