PSP: Missing Southern York County autistic boy found
Trooper Brent Miller, a state police spokesman, said shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday that the boy has been located.
The boy was found in a nearby outbuilding, Miller said.
State police and fire/rescue crews from southern York County are searching for an 11-year-old boy who wandered away from his home.
The Thursday-afternoon search is centered on a wooded area near the 200 block of Furnace Road in Lower Chanceford Township, according to Trooper Brent Miller, a state police spokesman.
"They think he's in the woods," Miller said, and in no immediate danger.
The boy is autistic, and it's believed he wandered away, the trooper said.
A tracking K-9 unit from the York County Sheriff's Office is on scene, officials said.
About 2:30 p.m., Miller said a state police helicopter was on its way to the scene to help in the search.
"He was wearing swim trunks and a gray sweatshirt with 'IronBirds' on it," Miller said. The Aberdeen IronBirds are a baseball team in Harford County, Maryland, that is affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles.
The boy has been missing since about 12:30 p.m., according to the Southern PA Incident Network.
