I-83 south lanes reopen after Emigsville-area crash

UPDATE:

Shortly after noon Friday, both southbound lanes reopened to traffic.

REPORTED EARLIER:

A jackknifed tractor-trailer has forced the closure of both southbound lanes of Interstate 83 in York County, state police confirmed.

The crash happened at 10:55 a.m. Friday in the southbound lanes, just north of the Emigsville exit (Exit 24), according to the York County 911 Center.

As of about 11:10 a.m., southbound traffic had been completely stopped for 10 or 15 minutes, according to a York Dispatch reporter at the scene.

Both northbound lanes are open, state police said.

However, northbound traffic is moving very slowing, according to the reporter.
