Police: Heidelberg man made call after crash
A Heidelberg Township man who was found dead in the woods Saturday not far from where he crashed a car two days earlier had called a relative at some point after the wreck.
The body of 25-year-old Ryan Blizzard was discovered about 1:30 p.m. off La Ho Trail, near Route 216 in Manheim Township, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
Blizzard had been missing since about 8:45 p.m. Thursday, when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash in the area of Route 216 and Blue Hill Road, the coroner’s office stated in a news release.
After his vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, the driver ran from the scene into the nearby woods and was not seen again, the coroner’s office reported.
Southwestern Regional Police say Blizzard called a relative regarding the crash. They believe he walked to the location where he was found, about a mile away from the crash.
Police said they found no indication of foul play, but an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday, according to the coroner's office.
