The York County commissioners approved a resolution Wednesday authorizing the issuance of bonds up to $850 million and financing of projects by the Geisinger Authority, on behalf of the Geisinger Health System.

A Geisinger spokesman assured the commissioners that the county would not be liable for payment of the bonds, but the group must receive county permission in accordance with the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act.

Geisinger operates a facility in Newberry Township with plans to build a larger facility there, according to the spokesman.

In other business, the commissioners authorized the release of $22,000 to the Farm and Natural Lands Trust of York County for an agricultural conservation easement acquisition of a 171-acre farm in Warrington Township owned by Morton E. Klise.
