Isaac's to open express shop in York City
Isaac’s Restaurants, a pillar of the York County soup-and-sandwich scene, is gearing up to open a new “express” location in York City at the end of March.
Isaac’s on the Fly, at the corner of West Market and South Beaver streets, will feature many of the grilled sandwiches and signature menu items found at Isaac's other three locations in York County, but the restaurant will have a cafe-style environment, according to a news release from the company.
Though Isaac’s hasn’t opened a new location in York County for 17 years, Director of Marketing and Menu Phil Lapp said the company has always had its eye on opening in the city, especially with the recent revitalization of the downtown market district.
“When you look at the three other locations (in York County), they do really well, but the heart of York County is York City,” Lapp said.
The location will be Isaac’s first express restaurant, with the company hoping the quick, casual dining service will appeal to York City’s younger customer base, according to the release.
Lapp said the location will have a soft opening on March 20 for friends and family, and host private events, before opening to the general public on March 27.
Isaac’s has restaurants in West Manchester, Springettsbury and York townships in York County. The company operates a total of 18 restaurants, including eight in Lancaster County.
