York City officials have overhauled the city's website and built an app to make it easier for residents to communicate with them.

The app makes the city’s new website more compatible with those on the move and “will keep residents, businesses and visitors updated on City of York events,” according to a news release from Mayor Kim Bracey’s office.

Residents can  make sewer payments, pay parking tickets and report quality-of-life issues to city officials by using the app.

“These new components to City of York government highlight my continual focus on the importance of customer service as an essential factor,” Bracey said in the release.

About a month ago, the York City Police Department launched a new app to make it easier for people to provide them with tips.

The police department app also automatically provides police alerts to those who have it downloaded on their phones.

The city and police apps are available on Apple and Android devices.
