There were no injuries after a barn fire Saturday in Lower Windsor Township that required 17 fire companies to extinguish.

Fire companies, including Craley Fire Department, responded to a barn fire on Old Commons Road about 4 p.m. Saturday, according to Craley Fire Chief Jesse Frantz. He estimated more than 100 firefighters were involved.

According to the Southern Pennsylvania Incident Network, other fire companies involved included North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Co. and Leo Independent Fire Engine Co. No. 1.

North Hopewell-Winterstown Fire Co. said on Facebook it supplied more than 22,500 gallons of water from two trucks. Their tanker 45 was one of 20 tankers from fire companies in York and Lancaster counties dispatched to the scene.

Frantz said there were no injuries or deaths other than four cows that did not make it out of the barn. He was unsure of any damage estimates.
