From stacks of hotcakes to free flowers, businesses and restaurants across York County are offering Veterans Day specials to honor past and present military members.

IHOP will give away orders of its Red, White & Blue Pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to all retired and active-duty military members, according to a news release from the company. IHOP has one location in the county, at 108 Pauline Drive in York Township.

All active, inactive and retired military personnel can drop by any Turkey Hill location to pick up a free 16-ounce coffee or cappuccino on Friday, according to a news release from the convenience store chain. Veterans can receive a free car wash at locations in Harrisburg, Mount Joy and Lancaster.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the service and sacrifice of our past and present heroes, and we hope they’ll join us on Veterans Day and enjoy a small token of our gratitude,” said Kim Hertzog, public relations manager for Turkey Hill Minit Markets.

Texas Roadhouse is hosting its sixth annual free lunch for veterans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. All active, retired or former U.S. military members are invited to choose from one of 10 entrees, according to a news release.

The steakhouse chain has two restaurants in the area, located at 1510 Mount Zion Road in Springettsbury Township and at 179 Eisenhower Drive in Hanover. Guests are required to show proof of service, according to the release.

Veterans can visit 1st Capital Harley-Davidson on Friday and Saturday to receive a tour of the dealership on Arsenal Road, with food and prizes included, according to a news release.

Royer’s Flowers is handing out free red, white and blue bouquets to any U.S. veteran who stops into one of its 16 stores in southcentral Pennsylvania, according to a news release. Royer’s has two locations in York, at 805 Loucks Road and 2555 Eastern Blvd.

“No one is more deserving of a national day of honor than the men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedom,” said Greg Royer, president and CEO of the company. “It’s our privilege to offer this gesture of thanks on Veterans Day.”

Sheetz will offer a free 6-inch turkey sub and regular fountain drink to veterans and current service members Friday, according to the company's website. Veterans must present military ID or proof of service. Veterans can receive a free car wash at locations with car washes. There are 12 Sheetz stores in York County.

Denny's will offer a free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5 a.m. to noon Friday for diners with valid military ID. The Denny's in York is at 1199 Loucks Road.

Veterans and active-duty military and reserve members with a valid military ID can visit Red Lobster on Thursday and Friday for a free appetizer or dessert. Red Lobster's special Veterans Day menu features six appetizers and six desserts. The restaurant chain has one location in the area, located at 2555 E. Market Street in Springettsbury Township.
