Toys for Tots' 2016 toy drive is set to begin soon in York County, according to an organization news release.

Drop boxes will be available at more than 250 retailers, offices and other locations Nov. 1 through Dec. 22 to collect new, unwrapped toys.

Toys for Tots will host several special events at locations throughout the county:​

  • A holiday tree lighting at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Springettsbury Township Park.
  • Each toy donation receives one buy-one-get-one admission Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26, at Rocky Ridge Park.
  • York City Light Up the Night event 5-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2,  at Continental Square.
  • Tour for Tots, where several central Pennsylvania locations Nov. 24- Dec. 10 will lead to the Veterans Memorial Bridge for a toy drop-off.
  • Basket bingo Sunday, Dec. 18, at Emigsville Fire Hall.

More than 32,000 toys were collected in York last year for about 30,000 children, according to the release.
