July Fourth pushes back city trash collection

The Fourth of July holiday will push back trash collection in York City.

Independence Day is Monday; the city won't collect trash or do any street sweeping that day, according to a news release.

Trash collection will be pushed back a day every day that week, with Monday's normal collection happening on Tuesday, Tuesday's on Wednesday, and so on.

Garbage normally collected Friday will be picked up on Saturday, July 9, according to a news release from the city.

Street sweeping won't be pushed back. Streets normally swept on the first Monday of the month will be skipped for July, but all of the other sweepings will occur as normal.
