Accident cleared on I-83 in Manchester Township

An accident on I-83 northbound has been cleared, freeing traffic in both directions in Manchester Township, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Traffic is at a standstill on Interstate 83 southbound near Exit 28 onto Strinestown due to an accident that has closed the left lane in both directions near mile marker 26.

Police were dispatched to the scene between mile marker 25 and 26 around 6:30 a,m., and there is at least one injury, according to York County 911.

Traffic on I-83 southbound was slow past Exit 28 onto Strinestown as of 9:30 a.m., according to PennDOT traffic maps. It had been backed up near Exit 22 onto North George Street on I-83 northbound earlier Friday morning.
