Two separate but related shootings early Friday morning in York City left one man and one woman in the hospital, according to York City Police.

The department first responded to the 200 block of Kurtz Avenue around 12:15 a.m. for reports of shots fired and found that the residence at 218 Kurtz Ave. had been struck by gunfire, but no victims were discovered, according to a department news release.

Officers later responded to shots fired around 12:27 a.m. to the 900 block of East Philadelphia Street, where they found Mikeya Thompson, who sustained a single wound to her leg. Thompson was transported to Memorial Hospital and was listed in stable condition, according to the alert.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to York Hospital, where a second shooting victim, Richard Dixon, had been shot once in the leg in an incident related to a robbery in the 200 block of Kurtz Avenue. He was also listed in stable condition.

According to the news release, the incidents are related. The victims were specifically targeted, and suspect information has been obtained, according to police.
