A 46-year-old Mount Wolf man died at Hershey Medical Center after crashing his friend's ATV in Hellam Township Wednesday evening, according to the Hellam Township Police Department.

Acting Police Chief Drew Heistand said Robert Quade Jr. appeared to hit a big bump in the road along the 4300 block of River Farm Road and lose control of the Honda 400 EX.

Quade was not wearing a helmet or any other protective clothing when the four-wheeler struck a tree, Heistand said.

Heistand said a similar fatal incident happened on the same road 10 years earlier.

"You have to wear helmets, we can't stress that enough, and any other protective clothing," he said.

"A lot of people think it's never going to happen to them, and those are the people it usually happens to," Heistand added.

The Dauphin County Coroner's office, which handles deaths at Hershey Medical Center, would not release any information on the incident Thursday morning.
