Fairview Township woman fifth in 2016 killed by vehicle

A 45-year-old woman struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday morning in Fairview Township died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries, according to an autopsy.

Nita Stout, of the 400 block of Nauvoo Road, was struck by a car while walking near her home on the shoulder of Lewisberry Road, according to the York County Coroner's office.

The Fairview Township Police Department is investigating.

According to the coroner's Twitter feed, Stout is the fifth person struck and killed by a vehicle in the county since January. That figure is equal to all of 2015.

York City woman remembered after bus crash

Stout was also the second of the week killed in this manner after 70-year-old Evelyn Miller was struck by a school bus on Wednesday in York City.
