Coroner: Woman killed by vehicle in Fairview Township

A 45-year old woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in Fairview Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
Nita Stout, of the 400 block of Nauvoo Road, was struck by a car while walking on the shoulder of Lewisberry Road.
The driver of the vehicle called 911, but Stout had no pulse when an off-duty state police officer first arrived on the scene, according to the coroner's office.
Deputy Coroner Jeffri Goodfellow was called to the scene in the area of the 900 block of Lewisberry Road at Nauvoo Road, according to the coroner's Twitter feed.
The call came in just after 7 a.m., according to York County 911. The woman was out walking when she was struck by the vehicle.
All lanes were closed in both directions between Nauvoo Road and Cedars Road for multiple hours following the incident, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The Fairview Township Police Department is investigating. An autopsy has been scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
This is the fifth person in York County to be struck and killed since January, according to the coroner's Twitter feed. That number is equal to all of 2015.
