Rain is likely throughout Tuesday in York County with possible snow mixed in around 1 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will also be breezy with a high near 45 and low around 30. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be sunny.

The NWS Winter Storm Warning for the county orginally ended at 7 a.m. Tuesday, but it was extended to 10 a.m. The state Department of Transportation removed its winter weather restrictions along Interstate 83 just before 8 a.m..

The speed limit between the Maryland state line and Exit 21 onto Route 30 East had been reduced to 45 mph in both directions.

Many York County schools are either delayed or closed for Tuesday:

  • Dallastown Area School District 2 hour delay

  • Dover Area School District closed

  • Eastern York School District closed

  • Hanover Public School District 2 hour delay

  • Northeastern School District closed

  • Northern York County School District closed

  • Red Lion Area School District closed

  • South Eastern School District 2 hour delay

  • South Western School District 2 hour delay

  • Southern York County School District 2 hour delay

  • Spring Grove Area School District 2 hour delay, non-public bus service and staff in-service

  • West Shore School District closed

  • West York Area School District 2 hour delay, modified kindergarten

  • York City School District closed

  • York County School of Technology closed

  • York Suburban School District 2 hour delay, modified kindergarten
